Tenterfield Shire Council covers an area of 7,333 square kilometers including mountains and rural landscape. The population is 6,638 (Australian Bureau of Statistics, ERP 2018).

Tenterfield is located a comfortable three hours drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Tenterfield & District provides the perfect Gateway to Big Sky Country – New England & North West New South Wales.
